CATAMOUNT CENTER FOR GEOGRAPHY OF THE SOUTHERN ROCKIES is an independent, non-profit research institution based in Colorado’s southern Front Range.  Originally established in 1998 as the Catamount Biological Field Station, CCGSR expanded its focus in 2005 to gain a better understanding of the interactions between human and natural systems throughout the southern Rocky Mountain region.

CCGSR now combines the expertise of its own staff with the faculty resources of Colorado College, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado State University at Pueblo, and the University of Denver to consider all facets of regional geography including physical, cultural, and biological.  By pooling our collective resources, CCGSR is in an excellent position to serve the research needs of the region.

The Catamount Center for Geography of the Southern Rockies invites all inquiries from principal investigators and students whose research program might benefit from our exceptional geographic position. For additional information email Howard Drossman, Executive Director, at hdrossman@coloradocollege.edu.
